Organ of St. Stefans Church in Konstanz
(1997)
Behind the center section of the folder the great work with a full principal
choir stands starting from the 16'. On the drawer of the great work also the
registers of the positive stand. Over the great the oberwerk is arranged.
It represents a expressive, which could not be built for architectural reasons
with its sharpened sound. The swell work stands to the right and to the left
from the great work.
Despite this separation the sound impression is a closed. A
characteristic of this work is the choir of over-blowing registers from the 8'
to the third 1 3/5'. The pedal is right- and left side accommodated in the Riepp
housing part. The Grand Bourdon 32' and the Subbass
16' stand on its own drawer at the rear wall. Despite the large register number
the total depth of the organ could be limited to approx. 120 cm. Nevertheless,
all works are well accessible. The wedge bellows supply the organ with permanent
wind, without that it comes to pitch fluctuations or decrease of pressure.
