Georges Heintz

On 1th of January 1970 Organ-build master Georges Heintz, originally from the Elsass, created his own workshop in Schiltach, Black Forest. It did not last long, until he received the first orders from the closer environment. Soon after the start of the company, propagation possibilities were missing. Very soon, he found in an old school building of Schiltach Vorderlehengericht the suitable premises, in order to be able to build also larger instruments. This area has been extended and further developed, so a beautiful roomy workshop has been realized. It did not last also long, until Mr. Heintz hired additional staff to count for the numerously orders, which have been received. Thus occasionally up to 10 employees worked in this enterprise. Also numerous apprentices were trained, who possess partially today own enterprises.

In January 2006 Georges Heintz retired.

Born and grown up in Annaberg in the Erzgebirge he received his training of building of organs in Bautzen at the Eule company. After a preceding two-year carpenter education, he was employed from 1973 to 1992 in Bautzen. In the autumn 1992 he moved with his wife and his two children to Schiltach, Black Forest. From then on he worked at the organ building company Georges Heintz within all ranges of the building of organs. Main emphasis of his activity was on the production of metal pipes and the intonation.
